MACCL Youth Orchestra
The MACCL Youth Orchestra was established in February 2007 as an addition to the various music and art programs offered here at MACCL. The MACCL Youth Orchestra gives string and wind players the opportunity to play in a youth orchestra and develop as young orchestral musicians. The orchestra has put on educational programs for elementary schools throughout Hardin County and has performed at various venues throughout the community. MACCL Youth Orchestra has opened for the Louisville Orchestra; they have performed at nursing homes, the Towne Mall, and the Hardin County Schools Performing Arts Center. As the MACCL Youth Orchestra continues to grow, we are always seeking and recruiting young string players that have a passion for music.
Young Beginners Orchestra (YBO)
The YBO program is for children ages 9 to 12 that have no music experience in playing an orchestral instrument. We provide each student with an instrument and instructional classes that teaches them how to play their instrument as a soloist and/or orchestral player. Each student has the opportunity to stay in the program from the time they start, until the time they graduate from high school. Our objective is to help each child become well-rounded in music, culture, and social interaction. Our goal is to promote academic success in school, provide opportunities for each child to attend college, and encourage college appliance.
